Blogger Says Google Should Of Protected Her From Being Outed

Blogger Rosemary Port has been identified as the person who had made some rather unflattering comments about model Liskula Cohen. Calling the model a ‘ho’ and a ’skank’, the blogger was outed by Google after a court order forced Google to identify the blogger. But now Rosemary Port is going to sue Google saying that the search giant should of protected her identity.

According to a recent article it states that:

The pretty 29-year-old Fashion Institute of Technology student added that she’s furious at Google for revealing her identity, so much so that she plans to file a $15 million federal lawsuit against the Web giant.

“When I was being defended by attorneys for Google, I thought my right to privacy was being protected,” Port said.

“But that right fell through the cracks. Without any warning, I was put on a silver platter for the press to attack me. I would think that a multi-billion dollar conglomerate would protect the rights of all its users.”

In her suit, she’ll charge Google “breached its fiduciary duty to protect her expectation of anonymity,” said her high-powered attorney Salvatore Strazzullo.

“I’m ready to take this all the way to the Supreme Court,” Strazzullo said. “Our Founding Fathers wrote ‘The Federalist Papers’ under pseudonyms. Inherent in the First Amendment is the right to speak anonymously. Shouldn’t that right extend to the new public square of the Internet?”

But this is the part I liked best:

“Before her suit, there were probably two hits on my Web site: One from me looking at it, and one from her looking at it,” Port said. “That was before it became a spectacle. I feel my right to privacy has been violated.”

Is this just a female cat fight that spread to the Internet?  What do you think?

She’s wasting money. They were supposed to defy a court order? There is no reasonable expectation of that.

Good god man. Should HAVE protected her identity, not Should OF. HAVE. not OF

[...] Should Google have protected a blogger from being “outed”? [...]

I’m sick of pure cowards hiding behind an isp to hurt others. I hope SHE gets sued.

[...] Google have protected a blogger from being [...]

It’s far to easy to hide behind a pseudonym when slating someone.

There are perfectly legitimate reasons for having a pseudonym and it’s not for this.

That “model” she defamed isn’t even all that attractive, she should thank the blogger for invoking the Streisand Effect and gaining her some attention.

Hmmm, been sued for NOT breaking the law.
Been sued for following the terms and conditions
Been sued for trying to defend her in court.

Google did everything they could to keep her anon.
At the end of the day if the courts issue an order Google have to follow it.

She has no case, there again I doubt the case against her will go well either since everything she wrote could be easily taken as personal opinion rather than a statement of fact.

I’ll state this here, shes a stupid cow for both writing the post in the first place and for trying to sue Google for obeying a court order. Please sue me! :)

Man frivelous lawsuits are popular these days! :)

What Do You Think?
