Google Has Modified Gmail Specifically For Netbooks

Google as added a new feature over at their Google Gmail that is designed specifically for netbook users. Since the screen on the netbooks are smaller, Google has added a feature in Gmail that allows the user to remove the subject lines from the message. This saves screen real estate so you can see message subject easily. On their site Google shows the screens before and after be modified.

It seems that Google is slowly gearing up their products to take advantage of their new operating system when it arrives. I believe we are going to be seeing more tweaks and upgrades as the months go by.

Hopefully these modification will make using a netbook easier for all of us. Do you think that Google is thinking a lot about netbooks? LOL

I dont think they are removing “subject lines”, those are filter labels.

Of course google is thinking a lot about Netbooks, they reflect a turning point in computer usage; true portability reflected in both size and power efficiency. Most laptops are glorified desktops, dependent on an external power-source for use over an 1.5 hours( with the exception from Apple – high density lithium ion batteries).

It’s kinda cool since I use a netbook, but it doesn’t remove the subject, instead it removes the label markers. My label markers are tiny so I don’t use that setting personally, but I can see how it would be greatly appreciated.

Google are thinking about everything including netbooks.
No one should forget about mobile phones usage either.

What Do You Think?
