But what does this tell us? Nothing more than what model sold more units (and we're not even told the actual qtys, especially if you combine both iPhone 3G models).

WHO is buying which phone would be important also. I bet a majority of the BlackBerries are purchased by corporate/businesses, while iPhone sales are from regular consumers. BlackBerry reminds me of MicroSoft, the business standard. Its like comparing apples and . . .

Quit making excuses. The Blackberry outsold the iPhone for once, deal with it. iPhone isn't the best device ever made. Just like its competitor, there are things it accels at, and there are things that it, well, sucks at.

Besides, the differences between all the Blackberry Curves is very minimal. There may be a bunch of different models, but they're all part of the same product line. One may have Wi-Fi, one may not. One may ship with a newer version of Blackberry OS, and one may ship with an older version, etc. If they were comparing all Blackberry sales (Curve, Bold, Storm, Perl) against the iPhone, then it would be worth mentioning, but since it's just Curve sales, bringing that up was juvenile.

Any one product isn't going to dominate the market ever quarter. It's going to vary quarter to quarter, and this quarter, the Blackberry Curve was on top.

And I'm not a fanboy. I own a Blackberry Curve, and I can't wait until my contract is up so I can get rid of it. I'm switching to an iPhone because the Blackberry Curve doesn't do what I need it to do -- well, it does, but not as well as the iPhone does. It's a great phone if you want a simple interface with the ability to browse basic websites designed for mobile devices, check e-mail, and text; however, if you are using your handheld device for multimedia tasks, then the iPhone is a better choice.

Yes, there are other BlackBerry models, but how many Curves are there in the market right now? 8300, 8310, 8320, 8330, 8900... They're all Curves!!! Break it down by Curve model numbers and then we'll talk. By that logic, the iPhone 3G and the 3GS should be lumped together.

Hi Charles,
You may also noticed that there are 4 Blackberry's also listed. I believe the breakdown is by model, not just make.

Regards, Ron
