Microsoft To Make Hohm Available For Download Today
Microsoft is making available Hohm, their energy management tool, today July 6, 2009 at 6:00am PDT. The download, when available, is still in beta form and Microsoft is looking for your feedback. The main purpose of Hohm is to monitor and help the consumer lower their energy costs by providing suggestions on how to make your home more energy efficient. According to the blurb on the Hohm site, it states that:
What is Hohm?
Microsoft Hohm is a free online beta application that helps you save energy and money. With Microsoft Hohm you can better understand your home energy usage, get recommendations to conserve energy and start saving. As with any recommendation engine, Hohm will provide increasingly more accurate and relevant suggestions for energy conservation as its users contribute home energy input and feedback. One of the objectives during our beta period is to refine our tool and further increase the value our product can offer to you.
There are three ways you can get invited to try Hohm. You can join the Hohm friend on Facebook, or Twitter and also by providing a valid email address.
If you do decide to try Hohm, let us know what you think.

Wasn’t Mr. Hohm the name of the Luwaxana Troi’s man servant in The Next Generation? The role was played by Carel Struycken, the same actor who reprised Ted Cassidy’s Adams Family’s butler, Lurch, in the movie.
