I had a question from reader Buffet who inquired about which firewall I was using. I had replied that on my Vista box I was using Vista Firewall Control. But VFC is only for Vista and Windows 7 and Buffet is currently using Windows XP. So I thought I would ask you people what firewall you are using?

I use the McAfee Security Suite. I like it’s install-and-forget style, and I never have had to worry about any viruses on my computer.

COMODO. Can’t beat the price (free) or the protection (excellent) or the ease of use - a 5 year old can manage the ordinary stuff.

WebRoot Desktop firewall on the XP netbook and my Vista desktop - it is free and simple to use.
Well, the Qosmio came with MacAfee so I decide not to mess with it.

After researching which Firewall to run on XP, I went with COMODO free. It not only blocks unwanted “in coming” crap but prevents “out going” as well when instructed to. Which is most helpful when you’re thinking about security!
