Here Come The TV Ads For Microsoft And Their Bing

Microsoft is spending a cool $100 Million to get us to drop Google and go with their new search engine called Bing. It now seems that Microsoft is going on the air with TV ads to try and convince us that Bing is the future. Though I wish the company well, the only one who is going to get anything out of this will be the TV stations and the folks who create the advertising.

Remember Ask? They tried the TV ads and it never worked for them. Which made me think about how Google gained their popularity. It brought to mind something I heard while attending a meeting on Monday night. During the conversation it came up about advertising and how word of mouth was still the best form. On the Internet with social networking available to all, word of mouth is now amplified further.

I have a question. Will you be dropping Google and using Bing?

Let me know.

PS Google was to have some TV ads a few weeks ago. I missed them. Did anyone see the ads?

I currently use Bing as my search engine at home, however at work I still use Google. I have no real reason for this other than “because”.

What Do You Think?
