Windows 7 Build 7057 RC1 On Torrents

Well, well, well. It seems one of two things are happening up in Redmond, WA, at the Microsoft campus. The people at Microsoft either are trying to stir up some hype over their pending release of Windows 7 OR they have a mole who is leaking the build out to the public. Several torrents have already posted what looks like as the RC build of Windows 7 out for downloading.
I was once again over at the Microsoft Connect site where official betas are released. Some there were still upset that version 7048 had been leaked. This should make them hit the roof.
Microsoft is remaining silent over the issue.
So what do you think? A release for hype or is there a mole among the Microsoft castle?

Microsoft is desperate these days. They’ll do any thing to pump up Windows 7. They may fool a few folks into believing Win 7 is a new product, but come on….. It’s just a repackaged Vista.
Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope comming in April, now that’s news you can count on!

I can say that Windows 7 is much more than a service pack or a repack of Vista. Download the latest build and then comment …. they do have it going on with this version. I think they seriously need to consider writing some drivers for older hardware themselves however. The hardware makers are concerned about sales, so they aren’t writing drivers for Vista. Unfortunately Microsoft got a bad rap because of drivers with Vista. The truth is that Ubuntu makes great use of old graphic hardware with Compiz, and proves that the hardware makers are not worried about their customers, just the next dollar. Clearly, Windows 7 would work well on older hardware. Maybe they should charge $5.00 for drivers on a new OS.

Hello Rob,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I’m looking forward to testing the RC build when it becomes available legally.

If it was a mole releasing it, and something MS didn’t want out there, why does my copy activate with the original beta key?

My understanding is that no keys will be issued for RC. So you needed to get a beta key before they were removed from the site.
