CNN Uses Holographic Technology
Last evening when I was watching CNN for the election results and they did a rather interesting thing. While Anderson Cooper spoke they had a holographic image of wiil.i.am and the two carried on a conversation. I also learned that Wolf Blitzer did another interview with CNN reporter Jessica Yellin before this. Both holograms came to the studio from Chicago.
Some are saying that this is totally unnecessary and was just bizarre. But personally I enjoyed it. It was something right out of the year 2020. ![]()
What do you think? Bizarre or entertaining?
Comments welcome.

I wouldn’t hold it passed it that most of that portion of the room was green screen and that they had markings on the floor to know where to look and had monitors to see will. i am from that direction.

I didn’t actually see the display of holographic technology but I think that it is something interesting and entertaining. I also agree that maybe 2020 is closer than we imagined.

Hello mu’uz asfaw,
I agree. It should be interesting to see how many more TV programs use the technology.

I thought it was awesome. I think someone said they used 35 cameras to do it.

While the display was unnecessary for the purpose of the broadcast, I do think this is a glimpse into some technology we will see greatly expanded in the future..

I was totally amazed and completely taken by it. All I could think of was Star Wars and R2D2 beaming his message.

Absolutely no help at all. Blitzer still yells at and talks over his “guest” whether live in person or live in hologram.

CNN did it as a stunt because, contrary to their touting, Fox was kicking their butts in the ratings.
But it looked pretty cool on the re-runs. Don’t like Cooper, will.i.am, CNN, or Blitzer.
Wish Fox had done it though. Then I’d have seen it.
