Win A Free Copy Of Norton Internet Security 2009

I was contacted by Noah Edwardsen of Symantec Corp., who has provided me with a free copy of Norton Internet Security 2009, to be given away to any reader of The Blade. This is a download copy, so a broadband connection is highly recommended. Mr. Edwardsen also stated that this would be a 3 license copy of their software.

Symantec has worked hard to reduce the impact that their products have on a PC. The company was aware of consumer complaints about previous versions slowing down their computers, and with this in mind, have reduced the resources needed to run NIS 2009, according to the company.

if norton was good i would jump at this opportunity. unfortunately, they are not, or at least haven’t been in the past. I wonder if anyone will want it?

Hello George,
“I wonder if anyone will want it?”
Good question. :-)

Nice Try Norton . No Thank - You :-) ^^^^

I gave Norton two years of my computing life. This year, I finally had enough of endless waiting at bootup for the program to do its thing, release my cpu and let me go to work. I am now a very pleased Bit Defender user.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your experience with us. Your experience is not unique.
All the best, Ron

I’ll take it if no one else wants it. :-)

Yes, I would like to be added to the draw, if possible. I’ve just setup Norton Antivirus 2009 trial on my computer, mainly because of the low resources claim on their website. That’s pretty important to me, as most AV’s are getting more and more resource hungry, and I have enough things sitting in my taskbar. I like the look and features, so far. One thing I’m curious about. I’ve used McAfee VirusScan Plus for 3 years now. Would Norton Antivirus 2009 be similar in features?

I’ve used Norton Antivirus for years and have been OK with it, of course, I’ve been using it on a Mac but have only now switched to a PC. What don’t I know?

Hi CF,
Norton on a PC has previously been problematic. This latest version seems to be less resource hungry.

Would you like me to enter you into the free giveaway?

Norton AV? Never used it, but worth a try.

I have used Norton products for years and I like it.

I am presently using Norton 360. 360 has some functions I don’t need or use (Backup) and I’d like Internet Security because it gives me just what I need.

Thank you for the offer.

I’ll give anything a try for the first time. I’m in!

Hi, I’ve been using Norton since 2000, and never have had a problem. Of course I would love a new version.

Hello,

Considering the good results of this version according to AV-comparatives and that I am rebuilding my security setup, I would like to enter into the giveaway, please.

i would like to enter for norton

Been trialling varoius av just done kaspersky and loving NIS 2009 - count me in. only gripe is that it does not have a right click context menu option to scan

I’m adding this name to the list as well. He posted over at the security page.

‘Hello,

I suspect I could find a use for a copy of Norton Internet Security 2009.

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky’

Thanks to everyone who has submitted their name. Best of luck to you all.

Probably the most ignorant question for you in a long time! Can one run two anti-virus programs at once? I am currently using Windows Live Care One and like it. In the past Norton has not caught viruses, et. and it was not pretty!

Thanks Ron!

AleneKnox@msn.com

Hello Alene,
Myself and others recommend not running more than one at a time. They sometimes will interfere with each other. I do advise that you run a online scanner once a month or so, just for your own piece of mind.

You can do a Google for Online Anti-Virus Scanners. Or try the link below:

A broadband connection is recommended. :-)

I wouldn’t mind a copy of norton.

Hell its for free and more than worth the price to check it out. Please enter me in this giveaway

Thanks. I have you both entered. :-)

Hi! Hope I am the lucky one. :-)

I want to enter. :-)

I Also Have Been Using Symantec Products For Years, So Count Me In.

have been using norton on my work PC for years without problems, haven’t had any viruses sneek by yet.
Does slow my system down once in a while but it’s an old cpu with aceleron processor

PLEASE ADD ME TO THE DRAW

I have you all entered in the contest. :-)

I would like to try my luck in this.
Please give me a chance, and add me in the contest.

Thank you!
:)

Hi Ron, could you add me in your contest? Thank you :)

Hi everyone,
I placed all of your names into a jar and had my 9 yr. old grandson draw two names.

The winner was Aryeh Goretsky
Runner up was jayjay

Thanks for entering.

Regards, Ron.

Hi guys please add me to your contest, as I can not really afford a antivirus top of the line software program suite. Thank you for your consideration. Terry Landrus. We have had 4 major hurricanes in the last 3 years

Hi,
Well I received a reply from Aryeh and he declined accepting the software. The email address for jayjay turned out to be bogus.

So we had another drawing. This time it was:
William Warner who won.

I’ll try to get a hold of William today.

If William Warner is not replying, I hope the next one is me.

:)

Hello NH,
William Warner responded and I already sent him the download link.

NIS20099 is best!
