McCain Says He Won Debate Before Debate Took Place

The Wall Street Journal made a mistake in posting a political advertisement for John McCain, before the debate even took place. It seems that the ad was not supposed to be placed until after the debate, but due to a clerical error made the paper in the AM edition, before the debate even took place. You have to admit that Mr. McCainhas confidence in his ability to win a debate, without the benefit of having the public decide who was actually the real winner.
No one from Dow Jones or the WSJ answered other questions regarding who approved the ad, the editorial process involved in accepting ads, potential ethical considerations, the possibility of the ad being confused with a headline, whether the ad would have run even if McCain hadn’t decided to attend the debate, or whether the Journal would have run it in the event the editorial staff or polls decided he’d actually lost—not answering all likely a smart move on their part.
I don’t know about you, but I am tired of the lies from both candidates. I originally thought that both McCain and Obama would steer clear of attacks that misinterpreted the facts. Unfortunately that does not appear to be the case.
Comments welcome.

Sounds like politics as usual! I have to admit I am hoping that someone at the Journal choose to make this “mistake”, because they were annoyed by it!

Also I do believe that it is common practice to get those type of things printed up before hand, by your own people (so the articles writer doesn’t lean the other way) and handed to the paper ahead of time for big things like that. I’m sure obama had one in there as well just no one is mentioning it because it didn’t get printed early.

This is not an issue of “lies coming from both candidates.”
Barack Obama has not compromised his integrity during this campaign. By contrast, it is perfectly clear that John McCain is trying to win at any cost. McCain and his surrogates have not only stretched the truth, they have engaged in outright lies, which are repeated endlessly, even after they are discredited. Equally vile have been the smears, such as the television ad falsely claiming that Barack Obama favors “comprehensive” sex education for kindergarten-age children, and the thinly veiled racism, including efforts to portray Senator Obama as a “boy.” John McCain’s dirty campaign, intended to deflect attention away from issues impacting the American people (health care, jobs and the economy, spiraling food and fuel costs), for which McCain has no intelligent solutions, raises questions about his character and fitness to lead our nation.
