If you have a suspicious file on your system that your current virus protection or spyware program is ignoring, upload the file to VirusTotal. Virus Total uses 35 anti-virus/spyware program’s to take a look at the file and report what it finds. Some of the top programs from the major software vendors are included. The best part is that the scan is free.
There is one statement on the VirusTotal website that says it all:
Currently, there is not any solution that offers a 100% effectiveness rate for detecting viruses and malware. You may become a victim of misleading advertising, if you buy such a product under those premises.
Your best protection is to use a combination of different software programs and do not rely totally on one product. If computer users would practice this safety procedure, their systems would remain relatively bug free.
Comments welcome.

If the suspicious file on your system has a virus and your own av program hadn’t stop or alerted you at the time, I would think it’s too late to have it send and varified by anyone.

You can have virus or a trojan contained within a file and it will never compromise the system as long as you don’t open it.
So yes, you can download it from a repository and then upload it to have it scanned and verify that it is safe to open.

The best key to tackle ones problems
I am a newspaper editor and who knows the value of time better than me. The dead lines just tumble around me and in this condition one just cant imagine speed of your computer getting drastically reduced and your data getting hacked due to spywares and adwares . The only thing you can trust in this situation is search-and-destroy. It’s really a best key to tackle my problems.
