The OLPC project is taking a new twist in the way it will distribute their laptop in that Amazon will begin selling the pint size laptops starting in November, 2008. In addition, the two for one program will continue, as the OLPC sells its computers through Amazon.
The program is officially known as ‘Give one – Get one’, supports the not for profit aspect of the OLPC program. When you purchase an OLPC computer, a second computer is donated to a child in a developing country.
OLPC is also going to start to offer the computer with the ability to dual boot Windows XP and Linux. Some countries stated that they would only be interested in an OLPC that used Windows. To satisfy this requirement users will have the option to boot Windows or the Linux operating system known as Sugar.
Comments welcome.

Yeah? How grand! How about the thousands of defrauded customers who tried to support the program and wound up with an unusable, proprietary OS on an unusable laptop?
