FireTune For Firefox – Have You Tried It?

FireTune for Firefox is a free optimization tool that claims to improve the performance of Firefox, depending on the connection and computer choice you select. After downloading Firetune, which is small at 1MB, you are presented with a screen asking you to check which of the settings applies to you. I chose fast connection and fast computer and clicked on the Tune Up button. There is also an option to restore your previous settings if some thing goes wrong.

According to the Firetune web site it states:

FireTune for Mozilla Firefox v1.x / 2.x / 3.x was developed for an easy and fast optimization of your browsing experience with Firefox. It is based on a collection of popular and well working optimization settings used and tested by the experts. Usually you have to optimize Firefox manually, which can be time consuming and difficult for the novice user. FireTune helps you here – it includes all the performance optimizations. The only thing you must do is: make your selection. FireTune does the work for you.

FireTune: downloaded and used on more than 2.5 million computers!

In most of all cases you’ll notice an improved browsing speed after optimizing Firefox with FireTune.

I’m going to try this for a few weeks to see if I notice any performance improvements. I’m using Firefox 3 with only 6 add-ons.

If you have used Firetune let us know what you think.

I have been using Firetune for sometime now and it was noticably quicker using FireFox in the version 2. Now that I have 3 version, not so sure it improves performance as yet. Only had version 3 for a few days now. Will update you after I use it for a while !
