Hi Marc,
I almost gave up trying to get it posted! I emailed Chris again this AM. I have noticed that ALL of LG is running very slowly. :-(

Anyone else notice a slow down?

Ron, I've read nearly everything AKH has had to say in the past few months, and when he says 'it's about as good as it's going to get' that is precisely what he means - it's called damning with faint praise. He is a fatalist, and believes that MS is taking the ' what else are you going to use?' position. The trouble is, for most people, they are right - most are sheep and will do as they are told.

As far as reliability goes, that is hardly a primary reason to use an OS - DOS 3.3 was VERY stable, so why did we ever move away from it?

I've not seen anything by Intel concerning Vista until this, and I would say that MS must have really made the Intel people upset over something. Matt's comment is his opinion, and that of many others, but it will take more than a few Apple fans for it to make huge changes in corporate America. Snow Leopard, with ZFS, is what is going to do it - but that's nearly a year away.

The thing about your article is though it's couched as an either/or proposition, it need not be. Many will use Vista, liike the good little sheep they are, and Intel will not have to - the people at Intel can use any OS they want, to test their own processors.

In the next year what will happen is that there will be those who use Vista because they have to, and those who use Vista because they want to - Microsoft will brag about the adoption rates, but the majority will not be happy campers.

BTW - I almost gave up on reading your article, as it took over 50 seconds to come up on my 3Mb connection.

Why is the text in the email so wide? I use Thunderbird. The text starting with "You gotta love it! " up thru "comparisons are different." is on one line forcing horizontal scrolling to read it

Please fix this..

It sounds like intel went to bed with the enemy, Apple, and they aren't coming home to Microsoft.

I have no doubt that they will continue to not use Vista. The reason I write this on my Macbook is because of Vista. The first time I installed the OS it took me an entire Saturday, just to go back to XP on Monday.
