Over at Windows Vista Magazine, they are reporting that sources close to Microsoft have indicated that ‘Windows Fiji’ is coming sometime in 2008. The original update was scheduled to be included in Vista SP1, but was delayed. The update will include HDTV support for Microsoft’s Media Center.
In the article it states:
Microsoft is working on an update to Windows Media Center which will focus on improved HDTV support, better internet integration and boosted performance in video and audio playback.
Rumors have surrounded the update, which has been codenamed ‘Fiji’ for about a year.
Sources close to Microsoft told Windows Vista: The Official Magazine that the update was due to be integrated into the Windows Vista SP1 update in March, but developers were rerouted to work on the Zune.
It seems that development is steaming ahead, and release is slated for later this year.
Once could conclude that if for some reason this update does not make it this year, it will be included with the release of Windows 7.
Comments welcome.

Guess Vista Ultimate is ‘ultimate’ in the same way that Sprint offers ‘unlimited’ use of the internet on its Unlimited plans.
I’ve seen no figures on the number of Vista Ultimate copies ’sold’ , but if the media center functionality isn’t folded in at some point I can smell a lawsuit brewing.
