For those who may be interested in using live meeting on the Internet for free, I would give DimDim a try. There is no software to use to get connected [uses Flash]  to connect you to others of your choosing on the Internet.  DimDim is open source software and therefore free for using by anyone. Currently only Windows is being supported. On their web site it states:

Dimdim is a free web conferencing service where you can share your desktop, show slides, collaborate, chat, talk and broadcast via webcam with absolutely no download required for attendees.

So what do you have to lose. This freebie may be just the thing you need to stay in contact with family and friends on a personal level.
