HP Has Mini-Laptop Coming At The End Of April

Let’s see, it is being called a Netbook, mini-laptop, MID, and now a pint sized, but no matter what the name maight be these little lappys are becoming tha latest craze. Now HP is jumping onboard with their own version of the mini and expected release date is the end of this month. Over at HP they state on their web site that:

Business and mobile professionals value the same mobility, usability and cost concerns of the education market. The HP Mini provides mobile professionals a sleek, lightweight device that provides access to information and the ability to collaborate with others as well as to communicate via email, instant messaging or even blogging.

TigerDirect is also advertising the HP minature laptop as well, and describes the MID as being:

Are you ready for Netbooks? The keyboards are smaller, the screens are generally smaller (most models feature displays in the 10-inch range) and there are no optical drives, in fact, no drives at all—flash memory handles the storage duties. What is brilliant about the netbook is its focus on the task—surfing the web—-which we can all agree doesn’t work on our cell phones.

Estimates are that the miniature laptops will see sale revenues of over 50 million by 2011.
