Netflix Will Credit Customers With A 5% Discount

I’m a Netflix customer and on Tuesday I received a notice from the company apologizing for the outage they suffered on Monday March 24, 2008. The outage resulted in a delay in one of the movies I had ordered by one day. I later learned that Netflix was going to apply a credit of 5% off of my monthly bill.
Customer service such as this should be commended to the highest extent. Netflix by doing this realizes how important their customers are. I wasn’t even expecting any type of a credit. I was just pleased they informed me of the delay. The discount is just a nice touch.
How many companies would take the time to alert their customers to an outage and than kick in a discount to boot? I am sure that many of you have suffered outages from your ISP with barely a whimper as to why this happened nor any type of an apology. I think I would have a stroke if my cable company offered me a discount when an outage occurred, which seems to be quite often lately.
What has your personal experience been with getting an apology from your ISP? How about a discount? Now that I think about it, how about an apology from any business?
Comments welcome.

I’ve always had good luck with Costco. I bought a DVD player from them and then a few months later recieved a $30 check. They said they found a better deal on these and wanted to give me the best price……

Oh yeah….even though I always bad mouth Volcano Tv, one month they subtracted 5 bucks because of a small outage. One more thing, when they went totally digital, one of my remotes did’nt work. The General Manager actually went to best Buy and bought a universial remote for me. I thought that was pretty cool…….(even though it did’nt work)…..
