AT&T + Direct TV = Phone Scam

I’m getting this second hand from a friend of a friend of a friend, you know the drill. But it does serve to remind us all of the warning about telephone scams. Just when we thought that the do not call list would protect us from scammers, I heard about this over the weekend and thought I would pass it on.
The information as told to me consists of a phone call from a representative of either At&T or Direct TV [or some other unknown 3rd party] offering an unbelievable bundled package of services at an incredible price. But once the new subscriber gets their first bill it is about double of what was originally quoted. Though the person can usually call AT&T for a refund, it is just a time consuming process that is frustrating for all who get involved in the process.
The FCC has a great web site that you can share with family and friends that cover the ins and outs of what the scammers may try. It is a fairly good read.
Comments welcome.

PS The person who got scammed on the phone was 82 years old.
