No Microsoft Xbox 360 Shortage - Just Switching To Blu-Ray?

At first it appeared that Microsoft was creating an artificial shortage of its Xbox 360, in an attempt to follow in the footsteps of the Nintendo Wii. The less Wiis there are available the more popular the Wii has become. But it may not be supply and demand that is the driving force behind the Xbox 360 shortage. Could it be that Microsoft needs to revamp their consoles now that HD-DVD appears to have died?
Though Microsoft is denying it, rumors have it that the new Xbox 360s scheduled for release in May, could support the Blu-Ray DVD format. Though MS claims there is plenty of demand for HD-DVD citing some 400 titles using the format, the questions is, how long will these titles be around?
It also looks like Toshiba is going to give up supporting the format, so why would anyone continue to support a dying format? With this in mind, I believe MS will have to change to Blu-ray and change soon.

Looks like Sony will be making even more money off of Microsoft.
