During the past few weeks there have been more rumors about when Microsoft will be really releasing Windows 7 the follow-up act to Vista. 2009, 2010, 2011 have all been batted around. I was able to speak with an insider, who knows a friend, of a friend, that knows a person who is a janitor for a company that has very close ties to a company that knows someone who is also inside and the real, real, real, date is………………………………. no one knows for sure, not even Microsoft.
Dell + Google rumor. These two are supposedly getting together on the Android project and will enter into a joint venture for a iPhone look-alike competitor. This has been confirmed by a ‘industry insider’ who asked not to be identified. OK.
Over at the FCC they are all delirious about the sale of the 700mhz spectrum since they may in fact reach their goal of $10 BN dollars. But no one knows for sure who is going to get what piece of the pie since this is a secret, hush-hush affair. But another ’senior analysist’ suggests that Google has in fact won a portion of the spectrum. Maybe.
This fact has been confirmed. Yahoo, once the darling of Internet search, is in fact laying off 1,000 workers. Rumors are that Yahoo is ripe for a takeover. Who may do this is yet to be determined but the name of a Redmond company has been mentioned by other ‘officials’.
Non-Rumor is that Dell is closing down their Kiosks.
