Central Trust Bank Spam Message - Beware!

I received the below spam message yesterday from what is alleging to be from the Central Trust Bank. I personally have not heard of the banking institution nor do I do business with them. If you get such a message, I would recommend that you delete it and do not click on the link provided.

Dear Central Trust Bank Valued Member,

We are currently performing regular maintenance of our security measures.Your account has been randomly selected for this maintenance, and you will now be taken through a series of identity verification pages.

To perform regular maintenance please click here xxxxxxxxx .

Please Note:
If we do no receive the appropriate account verification within 24 hours, then we will assume this account is fraudulent and will be suspended. The purpose of this verification is to ensure that your account has not been fraudulently used and to combat the fraud from our community.

Well, I haven’t received this spam but I do know that the Central Trust Bank used to be bank in the CIncinnati area. In fact it owned one of the tallest office buildings in downtown Cincy. It was bought up by, and is still called, PNC Bank headquarted in Pittsburg.
