Is Apple Deliberately Confusing Consumers?

We have all seen the PC vs Mac commercials on TV. In one of the commercials the PC guy tries to defend a position that Vista doesn’t run faster on a Mac than it does on a PC. The reference is to a previous report made by PC World, which posted an article on this very subject. It is confusing to some consumers?
During the past several weeks I have noticed some inquires about this subject,in some of the forums I belong to. Questions that seem to indicate that some consumers are being lead to believe that Vista actually can be preloaded on a Mac. Others are that a Mac can run PC software. Though with some modifications and added 3rd party software this may be the case, the fact remains that a Mac straight out of the box can do neither.
Which brings up the question. Is Apple purposely trying to deceive consumers into thinking that a Mac can run Windows stuff?
Many of us who know computers would not have a problem answering these questions. But what about the person who is not aware of what is required in order to run Vista or Windows software on a Mac? Are they being lead down a garden path by these Apple commercials?
What do you think?
Comments welcome.

I don’t think they are actually trying to decieve customers, however I do believe that is the end result of many commercials like this. Good Article.
