Stories You Will Read About In 2008

A few days ago I was thinking about what will be some of the news makers in 2008, when it stuck me that the news makers will be far and few between. But the stories we will read about will follow a similar path to those written in 2007. Let me explain. With millions of [...]

Nintendo Wii - Great Console & Great Games

As I previously mentioned, my wife and I were fortunate enough to latch onto a couple of Wii consoles for the X-Mas holidays for our grandkids. That’s not really true. I think the parents have more fun than the kids do. I have learned some things over the X-mas holidays that you may already know [...]

Is Zonbu The Future Of Computing?

Seceval months ago I wrote about the Zonbu desktop system, which basically incorporates using the Internet for all of your computing needs. This morning I discovered that Zonbu now offers a laptop system to compliment their services. I also found a user review that provided an in depth analysis and user opinion of the new [...]

Microsoft To Google: “You’re A Monopoly!”

You do have to laugh. Now that the FTC has given the Google + Double-Click deal an OK, Microsoft is now attacking Google via the EU saying Google would be a monopoly. Apparently the approval of the EU is the last step that Google needs in order to close the deal. Yet Microsoft wants [...]

Is Apple Deliberately Confusing Consumers?

We have all seen the PC vs Mac commercials on TV. In one of the commercials the PC guy tries to defend a position that Vista doesn’t run faster on a Mac than it does on a PC. The reference is to a previous report made by PC World, which posted an article on this [...]

Ready Boost For XP - eBoostr

Two weeks ago I mentioned here that I was trying a new product called eBoostr that basically works similar as Ready Boost does for Vista. I originally stated that:
To begin with, the eBoostr software costs $29.00 and currently comes with 2 years of support and upgrades if ordered before December 31, 2007. In addition to [...]

Windows Easy Transfer Companion Beta

I received the January 2008 of Technet magazine this morning and was glancing through it when I discovered this tool. What brought my attention to it was the following incident which occurred about a month or so ago. My buddy Denny called me and he was having trouble transferring info from an XP box over [...]

HDTV - More LCDs Coming From Sony

Sony has recently announced that it will concentrate its efforts in manufacturing more LCD televisions, and will stop shipping rear projections sets effective immediately. Sony will continue to supply the RP sets until all current supplies are exhausted. In the future the Bravia series will be LCD only.
When I first read this announcement from Sony, [...]

Identity Of Secret Blogger Protected Under 1st Amendment

Every once in awhile the good guys win, and this recent court decision proves it. The tale goes that an anonymous blogger was using a Google blog to post some unflattering remarks about the actions of a township, in which the town was conducting what amounts to a witch hunt after a former city attorney. [...]

Most of you are aware that the FTC has approved the deal in which Google is to acquire Double-Click which provides ad services.  According to the Google press release:

HP Succees Due To Products That Don’t Burst Into Flames?

I was reading an article by Craig Zarley who wrote a piece in the Var Business magazine, December 2007 edition, in which he described the 10 reasons HP has been successful. What struck me as odd was his #8 reason. “Makes products that don’t burst into flames.” He explains that HP dodged the laptop battery [...]
