Vista SP1 Beta Working Very Well
Since installing Windows Vista SP1, I have been using my Vista box a lot more since the performance has vastly improved. I may be one of the lucky ones, but thus far I have not run into a single glitch. Last week I did receive an update from Microsoft in which it stated there had been about 100+ reports of minor issues that it was working on. But for me, the computer Gods have blessed my Vista box so far and I must admit, I’m finally able to use the system, performancewise, like Windows XP.
The biggest benefit thus far for me in using SP1 is that my system starts a lot faster. Before the service pack, boot time was annoying since it was so slow. The system now boots more like XP and is a lot quicker than before. File copying between network systems has improved as well.
I was thinking this morning it is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since I received the RTM version of Vista Ultimate. It is also hard to believe that it has taken this long for Microsoft to come out with a service pack.
Overall I think that Microsoft is moving in the right direction and may finally get Vista up to speed.
With these improvements I will be using my Vista box more than I have in the past.
Comments welcome.
