I Can't Talk About Windows Vista SP1 Beta, But Others Can

Vista Service Pack #1 beta has been released for testing. That’s all I can say. You see, the announcement I got from Microsoft and also from my MVP lead specifically stated that I was under an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement). I was not allowed to discuss the release on the Web nor with any forum.

So this morning when I saw that Adrian Kingsley-Hughes over at ZD-Net had posted his experience with SP1 I noted what he had to say about his experience. Gee, that is exactly the same as my experience, but I can’t say it. So I’ll let Adrian say it:

Other points worth noting:

  • The install process took about 40 minutes on my system
  • The system rebooted 4 times
  • So far, I’ve not come across any SP1 related issues

What I’m really interested in seeing is how performance and reliability is affected.

Stay tuned!

I can’t wait until he posts his experiences with SP1 so I can see what my experience with the beta is, since I can’t say anything about it. :-)

Adrian’s full article is here.

Additional information from the Vista blog is located here.

PS I guess I can’t complain since the beta testing is limited. :-)

PSS I must have misunderstood the NDA. I can talk about my own personal experiences with Vista SP1. So stay tuned. I’ll be posting my own thoughts as I use the system more.
