Free Satillete TV For Your PC Or Scam?

Over at Satellite TV For PC 2007 Elite Edition, it is promising that, for $49.95, you will be able to use your PC to watch thousands of shows without having to pay for cable or satellite service. What is even more interesting is that it states this is 100% legal. The ad further states:
- Watch all your favorite shows on your Computer & TV!
- Channels you can’t get any other place in the U.S.A!
- Watch from anywhere in the world!
- Save thousands of dollars over many years on cable and satellite bills
- NO Shipping or Handling Charges
- NO Waiting for the Mail
Naturally being the skeptic I am, I found it hard to believe that this would be legal and that the software could actually deliver on their promises. My first thought was this most likely was a scam of some sort and should be avoided. Then I thought to myself, why not ask here and see what others think about this?
Who knows? Someone may have tried this software and can enlighten us as to whether it works, or more important, how it can be legal to use.
Comments welcome.
Software can be found here.

The page is not very informative, that’s my problem.
I would buy it instantly, but where’s the list with the channels offered? What Internet connection do you need (they offer HDTV)? How does it work technically? Does it work in a network environment with firewall, etc.? Which platforms does the software run on? They offer “premium channels” - like Discovery Channel, how can this be legal? Where’s the address & contact info? What are the terms & conditions you are bound to?
Also Manfred’s comment seems to be an advert, I think he’s just an affiliate (see http://www.satellitesoft.com/ how they recruit new resellers).
This service should really be further investigated…

Hello wolfhard,
Manfreds comment did seem like an advertisement after I look at it and followed the link. POOF! It is gone.
My feeling is the same as yours. I see a lot of TV programs from foreign countries and no where is a listing exactly which stations you get. I doubt it will do us much good to be able to watch CNN from Albania! :-).
I also agree that this seems to be on shaky legal grounds. I didn’t observe which law they were referencing to show the legality of this software.
Thanks for the comment.

No this program does not deliver.
They advertise channels that are not in the program when you get it.
I feel for all those dupped into buying it like I did.
I sure hope others will get the word out against this program.
What a ripoff!

I would be more receptive to this internet tv program if they offered a demo version.
And if it’s that good why wouldnt they offer that?
