Ultimate Steal - MS Office For $60

Just a quick note:
It seems that Microsoft is going to be offering their MS Office Ultimate 2007 to college students for $60.00. Sure beats the $400+ price that the software normally sells for. Not many details are available yet since the offer doesn’t start until September 12, 2007. As I post this that is about 2 hours away. There is a count down clock currently on the site.
The software will be available for download only.
Check out the Microsoft site here.
I’ll be adding more information once the site becomes active.
Comments welcome.

Hmm, I might take advantage of that. Right now though I want to see if OpenOffice will be enough to get through college though (can’t argue with free…).

Just checked the site. The countdown clock is at 13 hours, not 2.

Why do you name this site a “Microsoft site”?
This is a site named “theultimatesteal.com” (godaddy)
And it seems the countdown is ALWAYS two hours!
Is this a fraud? Please explain this to me!

Hi all,
I just went back also this morning and now the clock is at 7 hours plus. Strange.
My guess is that Microsoft has hired a 3rd party to handle verification of college eligibility and to provide the download for them.
I’ll do some more checking today to see what I can find out and get to everyone.

PS DON”T SHOOT THE MESSENGER! LOL
