This weeks Office Conference 2.0 being held in San Francisco should hold plenty of surprises for those who like to watch Google. There is talk that Google could release their highly anticipated presentation application during the event. Though Google is remaining mum on what it has planned, they may be forced to show their cards now that Microsoft has entered into the online application fray.
There are also rumors that Google is in the process of restarting a wiki called Jotspot that the company had acquired over a year ago. If true, the wiki may also be incorporated with Google’s other online apps. as well. Google Wiki would be in competition with the popular Wikipedia that many of us use. Should be interesting to see what happens.
The Google phone rumor now has taken a new twist, depending on which articles you read. It seems that the Google phone is now being compared to the ‘Rosewell UFO’.
Does this mean that the Google phone is only for contacting aliens?
The hard money this week is that Google is developing phone software and not their own phone.
Now that Apple has cut their 8MB iPhone by $200 and dumped their 4MB model, it makes one wonder what Apple might know or fear from Google. It still seems strange that Apple would offer such a deep discount for a product that is barely 2 months old. As I have mentioned before, Google and Apple are fairly buddy-buddy in Silicon Valley with Schmidt sitting on Apples board of directors.
So here’s a new rumor. How about Google paid advertising software on a iPhone? Google gets the advertising bucks it needs and Apple sells more iPhones?
What do you think?
Comments welcome.
