The folks over at Mozilla are looking for beta testers to get involved in testing the newest version of Firefox. They are requesting help in testing their nightly builds and reporting bugs or other irregularities that may surface. Some of you who have read my columns have asked how to get involved as a beta tester and this is one way to get yourself known. Mozilla describes the testing:
There are a lot of ways to contribute to the Mozilla project, and QA is one of the easiest ways to get started! Our community is made up of a few different types of people… which ones do you want to be a part of?
Testers: Anyone can help us test! Millions already do by using Firefox and submitting crash data and feedback , but we are always looking for more people to use Litmus and help us create better test cases. The Mozilla QA team is always working on some new release, and to get more test coverage from the community, we often have Test Days to get focused testing on a particular build or feature.
Its test days:
Welcome to the Firefox - Download Manager / Password Manager test day! Thank you for participating. The success of Firefox is heavily dependent on community members like you. We appreciate your support!
For the new Firefox 3 Release we will change the test day interval to one test day per week.
On the 31st of August we’ll be testing the download manager/ password manager in Firefox nightly builds.
The next test day areas will be :
7th September : extension manager / content handling
14th September: Places - bookmarks / history
21st September: site specific prefs / OS integration
So if you have some time available and wish to become a part of testing the next release of Firefox, please support the Mozilla project and its quest to bring us the best browser possible.
