Free Security Upgrade Of Microsoft Works

If you are using MS Works, you can obtain a free upgrade copy of Works from Microsoft that corrects some security issues.
Free security upgrade copy of Works 8.0 from hereI don’t know how long this link will be maintained by Microsoft. I am posting this on August 1st, 2007, so if it is gone at some time in the future, so be it.

I’m not positive, but I don’t believe Microsoft is actually giving away a full license of Microsoft Works v8 for free. I believe the download link in your post is actually related to this document:
http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/HowToDownload.mspx
I believe it’s actually a security related upgrade, but it contains all files necessary for an install from scratch, and perhaps it isn’t too picky about looking for valid qualifying products that are already installed.

Thank you so much for the information and the correction. I did have a previous version of Works on the system I tested this on. Just to be on the safe side, I corrected the article.
