Just a quick note:

Symantec has released an updated Norton removal tool version 2008.0.0.21 which corrects a problem that was occurring with Windows Vista. If you have tried removing a Norton product under Vista and experienced any problems, you may wish to give this updated tool a try.

As suggested on the site, you may wish to print out the directions before proceeding.

Also please head the on site warning:

The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products from your computer. Before you continue, make sure that you have the installation CDs or downloaded installation files for any Norton products that you want to reinstall. Also, if you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases and uninstall those products.
