Hitman Pro Free Spyware Protection Software Reviewed

I completely forgot about this software program until a post in one of the forums I visited jogged by memory about this free spyware protection program. For those who are system builders, or who service computers and provide technical support to their clients, Hitman Pro is one software you may wish to consider using on your client machines. It is also helpful for those family members, relatives, friends and others who are new to computers and who have trouble either understanding the importance of spyware protection or who do not take the time to even run the software in the first place because it is to complicated for them.

I recall an incident in which I had a elderly client who I was trying to show how to run Lavasoft’s AdAware program manually. I provided him with written instructions on how to update the software, remove the junk that it found and also setup a scanning procedure for him to follow. He seemed to understand what I had said. Several weeks later, and a few phone calls in between, I came to the conslusion that he was totally lost. I installed Hitman Pro one his system which did the chore automatically for him. He was a happy camper and so was I.

I basically used Hitman Pro to automatically operate Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy and Spyware Blaster all of which are free spyware protection programs. These highly rated programs working in conjunction with each other will keep your computer clean, lean and in proper working order. Some of you already may be using these free programs and run them manually like I do on my systems. But Hitman Pro is a great asset for those who are challenged doing these operations manually. :-)

Basically Hitman Pro is a scripting program that updates, scans, and removes any spyware it finds on your system automatically. Just hit the scan button and Hitman Pro does the rest for you. But if you are the type of user like me who prefers doing things manually [I like to decide what should be removed or not], than Hitman Pro may not be suited for you.

Here is what the author says about his product:

Freeware tool Hitman Pro combines the best of both worlds to fight spyware.

Hitman Pro is a freeware tool that combines a number of powerful anti-spyware programs in one integrated solution. In nearly all anti-spyware reviews, the conclusion is that none of the anti-spyware programs removes all spyware. A combination of two programs is recommended.

This is exactly what Hitman Pro does: it combines Ad-Aware SE, SpyBot Search & Destroy, Spy Sweeper, Spyware Doctor, CWShredder, Spyware Blaster, NOD32, Sysclean package. Most of the included programs are freeware. Some of these programs are limited trial editions of commercial programs, and the user can decide to switch these off after the trial period.

In case the user has purchased that program, Hitman Pro will support the full version.

As stated above, Hitman Pro can be configured to run only the spyware software you choose. So the user is not hindered by using trialware versions of other included programs if you do not wish to do so. I usually employ Ad-Aware, Spybot and Spyware Blaster only. However you may select and choose the programs which best meet your needs.

Using Hitman Pro as mentioned along with AVG Free Edition will provide you with the protection you need to keep your system spyware and virus free. Plus they are all free programs. You can’t beat the price! :-)
Free download of Hitman Pro is available here.

Sounds like an interesting piece of software Ron! I d/loaded the pgm but have not installed it yet. Right now I’m running the AVG (free version) and AdAware 2007 Pro (paid version).

Does the installation allow for configs PRIOR to installing any unwanted programs that are covered, or am I stuck doing a clean-up job afterwards? In anycase, it sounds like a worthwhile project. Thanks once again (as always) for bringing these offerings to our attention.

P.S. How the hell do you have time for all this research! LOL

    Hi Don,
After installation you are allowed to choose which programs you wish to install. Click on Setup and go through the lists and select what you want installed. So you don’t get stuck with something you don’t want.

    All the best, Ron

PS I usually spend several hours a day working on my blog.:-)

i can’t believe this ,I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for. I use http://xub.me/ab
