Family Watchdog - Do You Know Who Your Neighbors Are?

Even though this is not computer related, I felt this is important enough to share with everyone. My buddy Charlie from CA., sent this link to Family Watchdog this morning and I immediately used the site to check my neighborhood. Fortunately no perverts live around my neighborhood which is nice. But what about where you live? Do you know your neighbors?
Family Watchdog is a site where you can put in your street name, the city where you live and zip code and a map comes up showing which offenders live in your area. Some of the offender profiles even include last known address, previous address, where they work, criminal history and even a photograph may be available.
The site also offers safety tips on how to protect yourself and your family from this scum as well as being able to sign up for safety alerts.
Also there is a statistic section showing how many perverts per million live in each state. Minnesota has the fewest while Alaska has the most and exceeds every state in the union by a huge margin.
You can find the site here.

Hello,
I went to the site and put my old address in, when I lived in Kentucky. I was stunned. There was 12 offenders living on my street. From rape to child molestation. 864 within just miles.
Scary!

Hi Kyle,
It is a eye opener to see who might be living in your neighborhood What is even more disturbing are that these are the people who have registered. I know for a fact that some of these people don’t always follow the rules and fail to inform the local PD that they are in town. They go undetected until caught.
Thanks for the comment.
Ron .

My shock came when my neighbors were convicted of 100 counts of child porn, child endangerment, cultivating drugs and drug abuse. They recieved a slap on the hand, kept their 10 yr. old daughter and have since relocated right by an elementary school and 4 other schools in close locations. The father is listed as a sex offender and I still can’t find him registered. Makes me ill to know that they get to continue unnoticed. How many more like them are there, and their being permitted to continue. What more can we do as citizens to help stop this and save our children.

Hi Linda,
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I agree. How do we protect our children from this vermin?

I thought I was doing a good job keeping my grandsons safe, warning them about STRANGERS. Imagine my shock when too late I learned their father was a convicted child molester. No one in this mans family ever so much as warned me he was a danger to the boys. Wish I could sue the pants off themn for what these boys now have to live with. Now I check the family watchdog site on a regular basis.

I want to know how I see just that one person when I am notified that a offender moved in my area. I want to see the new person who just moved in, rather than the entire map of offenders, because I never know the new face that just came on the block. Why are they allowed back in our society after they hurt a child? This is not right. They let them back in out society to go out and harm another child because you know thats what they are gonna do.
