Ubuntu – Full Circle Magazine – Free Download Or Subscription

Posted by on Apr 18, 2007 | 3 Comments

The folks over at Ubuntu have come out with their new magazine called Full Circle and I just got finished reading the first issue which is numbered as 0, like in zero. The first issue covers the release of Fiesty Fawn, Ubuntu newest release. Also on the web site is the ability to either view the magazine in .pdf format or to subscribe to the magazine all of which are free for the asking.

Ubuntu also has posted some other information as well as looking for volunteer editors:

This is just a preview issue of whats to come. It contains:

History of Ubuntu – from Warty to Feisty
Ubuntu 7.04 – Feisty Fawn’s New Features

Over two weeks in the making and dozens of forum posts later it’s finally released!

I want to thank all the people in the Ubuntu community who’ve really dug deep and begun contributing articles for issue #1.

Also:

OK, with issue #0 on the home straight, its time to prepare for the big #1!

I’m looking for people who’d take on a monthly position, voluntary of course, by essentially being a sub-editor of sorts for a particular section of the magazine.

Most of these little jobs don’t even require writing… just a sound knowledge of copy and paste. So if you’re not confident in writing articles, this could be your way of helping out!

Of course, if you take one of these jobs you’re still more than welcome to submit articles, NO-ONE is being stuck in one single job!

So if you are an Ubuntu fan and have some time to spare, this is a great way to contribute to the Linux community and make a difference. Ubuntu is one of the most popular distributions available for free download or it will even send you a free CD all for just asking. Even postage is included in the price. Ubuntu is one of the easiest distributions to use and the one that most folks recommended to those who are taking their first dip into the Linux waters.

So get your free copy of Full Circle or sign up for the monthly release from here.

    Hi Mark,
Doing a quick Google I did not see any Linux supported drivers for the product.

Yes, it works under Ubuntu Feisty:

    /etc/modprobe.d/options:
    # Options for u720
    options usbserial vendor=0×1410 product=0×2110
    options airprime endpoints=1

    /etc/modules:
    usbserial
    airprime

    /etc/ppp/peers/verizon:
    noauth
    connect “/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/peers/verizon_chat”
    defaultroute
    usepeerdns
    ttyUSB0
    230400
    local
    debug
    -detach

    /etc/ppp/peers/verizon_chat:
    ” ‘ATZ’
    ‘OK’ ‘ATDT#777′
    ‘CONNECT’ ”

    # sudo pppd call verizon
