Finding tools, especially free ones, to add to your tool kit for future repairs is always a challenge. There are so many fine software products on the market, that one needs to wade through a multitude of products to find those that are both easy to use and yes, FREE!
DriverMAX is one of those rare software products that not only is simple to use, but also works. I first became aware of DriverMax about two weeks ago. A friend of a friend, mentioned this product and asked if I had ever tried it. Nope, I hadn’t but I was willing to try it and see how it worked, since I am always looking for new tools to add to my repair kit. And now that I have a 2G USB drive to use, I am trying my best to fill it.
Well it took me awhile to report of the software, since last week the wife and I took a mini-vacation to visit the kids. More on that later. But I finally was able to take DriverMax for a test ride and it was love at first site. The download and installation is faultless. And the program GUI is simple. I mean real simple folks. It finds all of the drivers on your system and then you just click select all and export everything to a folder of your choosing. I ran this on all five of my systems, backed up the drivers and place them all on a CD for future use, if needed.
The DriverMax website states:
“Note: DriverMax only works on Windows Vista and Windows XP (all service packs).
DriverMax is a new program which allows you to easily reinstall all your Windows drivers. No more searching for rare drivers on discs or on the web or inserting one installation CD after the other. Simply export all your current drivers (or just the ones that work ok) to a folder or a compressed file. After reinstalling Windows you will have everything in one place!”
So give this software a try. I highly recommend it. Enjoy.
