Adobe has a document in .pdf format, which includes a FAQ and other additional information about Adobes plans of which software to update for Vista support. Basically Adobe is not going to provide updates to their current software products, which they state, should work properly with Vista, but are not certified. And in essence, Adobe will be releasing new products that will be certified for Windows Vista.
Adobe states the following:
“All Adobe products available as of January 30, 2007 were released before Windows Vista became publicly available and so have not been fully designed for or tested on this new operating system. However, many of those products run under Window Vista with minimal issues. To find out more about how different Adobe products work with Windows Vista, please see specific product sections later in this FAQ.”
Also Adobe indicates that they have released some patches for some of their products that should permit some of their software, but not all, to function properly with Vista. So if your software has not been one of the ones chosen to be patched you may have to buy the next edition of Adobe software if you plan on using Vista.
Take a look at the end of the article and see if your software will be updated or not.
It makes me wonder how many other software vendors may not update their older software to work with Vista and forcing the consumer to buy their latest and greatest software products.
