This morning I received a email in which the sender asked my opinion of a web site ‘Discover Hackistan’. So I wondered over to take a look. At first glance the web site appears to be from the country of Hackistan, which one could confuse as being a newly formed country after the break up of the Soviet Union. In fact the web site even posts a Hackistan flag and a map of the country.

But on closer examination of the map cities have listings such as High Memory Region, Beta Zone, Port Scan and other computer terms which are normally associated with hackers and their trade. Hackistan even has a college in which they teach their citizens, all of whom have SAT scores of 1600, the art of stealing data and hacking.

And they also listed some of their countries key facts as being a exporter of Viagra and Cialis products. Which the spam filter here at World Press stops about 200 such ads a week from making it to the comments section.

So I contacted the FBI, CIA, FCC, FTC, ACT, FAA, and KGB and discovered the site is basically a advertisement for a company that provides security called Fortify.
