I don’t think it ever stops. Just when I think I have all of the Google search engines figured out, up pops another. This beta [test] search engine is Google Scholar. It’s main purpose is to search scholarly documents posted on the web including a vast array and assortment of articles most of us may choose to pass up.
But for the scholarly reader, this is a absolute must have search engine and I can see it a valuable tool for students, faculty and researcher’s attempting to locate information, which Google describes as:
“Features of Google Scholar
- Search diverse sources from one convenient place
- Find papers, abstracts and citations
- Locate the complete paper through your library or on the web
- Learn about key papers in any area of research”
One of the features of Google scholar is that library’s can take advantage of the software to assist patrons in locating resources whether in electronic or print format. So if you know a librarian you may wish to suggest this Google site.
