When I arrived home on February 12, 2007 the new issue of InformationWeek had arrived, and the main story on the cover was about hackers. I thought to myself, another sorted tale of hackers with some guess work and rumors, supplemented with a wisp of quotes from Fred somebody, from ABC company, telling his thoughts on the evils of the Internet.
But what I found was a very interesting well written and thought out article, which even the authors stated, was a tough nut to crack because of the clandestine network that the hackers use to conceal themselves. And the difficulties in which law enforcement and the security industry was having trying to stop these criminal.
What is also disturbing is that databases of information are being sold openly on the Internet, but the criminals are smart enough to conduct their transactions via chat rooms and even use such sites as Pay-Pal and others to receive payment for their sales. Unbelievable!
Interesting and very informative read.
