Google – Click To Call Link – And It's FREE

Posted by on Feb 12, 2007 | No Comments

I’m over on Google Maps this morning trying to locate a radiator shop near where I live, who I have previously done business with. And for the life of me, I can’t remember the companies name, but I know the street where they are located on. And since they are a new business, they don’t have a advertisement in the phone book yet.

BUT, I noticed something that I have either missed before and just didn’t pay attention to. It’s a link called ‘click to call’. Google had located a repair shop that featured this button. What is it?

Over to Google search and I found a Google page which describes the feature:

“Here’s how it works: Search for a business, like a hardware store on Google Maps, and click the ‘call’ link next to its phone number. Then, enter your phone number and click ‘Connect For free.’ Google calls your phone number and automatically connects you to the hardware store. ”

Nice feature.

For more information see Google’s Blog.

PS I found the radiator shop I was looking for using the latest technology which I just purchased. I hoped in my new SUV and drove over to the business and came back with a fistful of business cards. :-)
