I received a best buy alert from, who else, but Best Buy. They are offering a Gateway Laptop and a Lexmark All-In-One printer for just $599.99 plus tax, s&h if needed.
So how are Gateway systems? I personally own two of their laptops which I have previously bought at Best Buy, one is about 1.5 years old and the other about 8 months old. Both have functioned very well. Neither are speed burners, but for average daily home use, perform very well.
So is this a stripped down model? Nope. The Gateway laptop Mdl. MT3418 has a AMD 64 Turin processor, 1G of Ram, 120 GB hard disk, DVD-RW, 4-1 media reader, NVidia 6100 graphics [shared memory to 256MB], modem, network, plus wireless and a 14.1 Ultra bright widescreen. And you get a Lexmark printer, scanner and copier thrown in. Vista Premium as well.

You say that is not a stripped down version?
SHARED video ram. BAD.
Only 1GB of ram, Vista eats it up. Get at least 2GB.
120GB Hard drive? Pssh, its only $0.16 a Gig, as far as hard drives go.
That is a stripped down version. And.. about the printer… You know how much ink costs. Don’t waste your time/money.
