Acronis Software v7 - Free - Backup

THIS OFFER HAS EXPIRED - SORRY - BUT PLEASE SEE THE LAST COMMENT BY CUFFY WITH A LINK TO ANOTHER OFFER FOR A NEWER VERSION OF ACRONIS.  THANKS, RON
Acronis software is offering a free copy of their renowned backup software for free. Version 7 is a older copy of the software, but works very well. And you just can’t beat the price…….FREE !

What is Acronis? It is basically backup software that can create a image of your hard disk, which can be used in the case of catastrophic hard disk failure or some other event that may require that the image be used.

Registration is required including a email address where the registration information can be sent, including product serial number. It’s a small price to pay for a Freebie.

Get your Free copy here.

Enjoy.

Please see the comment by Cuffy below which it explains the login process. Thanks Cuffy!

What do you think?

You need to mention that you can’t actually get a copy of Acronis 7.0. I just spent 20 minutes getting sent from one reg page to another. They keep sending me serial numbers to make sure I really want the product but not once am I ever sent to a page where you can actually download this product. This is really a new scam that I’ve never seen before. Tell them to take it and stick it. If I tried to do that I’d get sent to another reg page and get sent another serial number.

Hello Gary,

Thanks for pointing this out. Something is definitely wrong with the system. Let me contact Acronis and see what the problem is. I just spent 10 minutes doing the same thing as you described. What a zoo !

Regards, Ron

Guys, I understand you’re frustration but I just left the site and my account and it works fine. I’ve downloaded the file twice without problem.
To keep it simple !

Go to the link and get a serial number
Go to the site and set up an account to register your serial number.
Once “MyAccount” is established go back to your account with your email addy and password.
Log in and Acronis TI 7.0 will be displayed.
Scroll down several lines and you’ll see a download link.
You can get the downlaod any time you want by logging into your account with your password and clicking on the download link.
Questions ? Hollar !

Hello Cuffy,
Thanks for the comment. It does work like you said. And I could of sworn I was doing the same thing yesterday, but it didn’t work. Maybe that email to Acronis support did help. :-)
Thanks again. Ron

Nice try Ron, but I got the download in Oct. last year using the same procedure I just described.
When a convoluted procedure comes up a convoluted brain really helps and if you have difficulty convoluting it’s just a matter of time before it will come naturally !
Keep up the good work, I enjoy your blog ! Thanks,
Cuffy

Heh Cuffy,

LOL. Again, thanks for the comment.

And thanks for the compliment as well. Take care.

Ron

Not exactly intuitively obvious. I’ve never heard or seen of any process like that. Do this then do that then establish something else before you can download some lousy out of date software? And the process isn’t even documented? I don’t think so. They can keep it and shove it ! Remember that old saying about first impressions? I will be going out of my way to tell friends, strangers and everything in between about this first impression.

Piece of crap, following instructions still presents me with nothing but registration pages. Not a log ing page to be seen. Keeps telling me after I click continue that my e-mail addy is already registered. Funny how it won’t let me go to my account. Now I know their software must be sh*t.

I received a email from Acronis this afternoon stating that this offer was no longer available.

Sorry for the confusion.

Cuffy - February 6, 2007 @ 7:14 pm

I saw your note where Acronis pulled the freebie of True Image 7.0.
In one of my newsletters today an offer came in for a solution to the problem with a version between the obsolete 7.0 and the cutting edge version 10.0.
Nothingbutsoftware is offering :
http://www.nothingbutsoftware.com/Catalog_Type.asp?ProductCode=36864&ai=2591
for $11.95 and from them you get the CD.
Hope this provides some solace for those that missed the freebie.
By the way, I’m not connected to Acronis or NothingButSoftware in any way. I’m just a freebie hound plying my craft.
