Want to take a trip to Mars? Jump on over to Google’s Mars website located here. And be the first one on your block to check out the Martian neighborhood.
You can explore mountains higher than Mt. Everest during your journey through Mars then swoop down into deep canyons viewing carved out canyon walls. You can even treat yourself to a view of where the rover’s have landed and also checked out the view in both day and night, plus thermal images are also available.
The only thing I noticed was that Google Mars was not in color. So I head over to Google’s site to find out why. It seems, according to Google, that the planet “Mars pretty much looks like butterscotch. We chose a gray-scale map in order to highlight more surface details.”
So take a wonder over to Google Mars and explorer to your hearts content. And you may wish to pass on this link to others who might be interested in taking a trip around the Red Planet.
Maybe you can locate any Martian military camps getting ready to attack Earth.:-)
PS Google Earth did change their maps of Iraq to older views that do not show the British military bases.
