This Tuesday, which has become known as Patch Tuesday, we will see only four patches instead of the original eight that Microsoft had planned to release in its original announcement. (Revised announcement on January 5, 2007.)
If you wish to receive Microsoft Security Bulletins, you can sign up for notification from this site. These are free security bulletins that anyone can get and it’s a great way to stay on top of new patches and fixes.
As always, these patches and fixes should not keep users from updating their anti-virus and anti-spyware programs. Security updates only address problems with Microsoft products and vulnerabilities that have been found or exploited.
All of the security updates from Microsoft require that a non-pirated copy of Windows is installed on the system. They’re supplied via the Windows Update service.
