But more importantly both Startup Monitor and Startup Control Panel provide very useful information and can help protect your system from progarms that may attempt to take over your system. I have been using both protects on my computer system since they first were introduced and they work extremely well. And they have received high praises from others in the tech. forums who use and recommended these products as well.

Startup Monitor

This small program, 60k, use hardly any resources and run invisibly in the background looking for anything that is trying to make changes on your system. A notice will appear asking the user to prove the change. This prevents errant spyware programs from trying to install themselves on your system. The free download can be found here.

Startup Control Panel

This is also a small program, 59k, that allows the user to view what programs are starting when your computer boots up. So if you are having a boot problem from a errant program, you can disable the program until you are able to fix it. I find this handy when some softwares like HP like to call home behind by back for updates, I can zap them on the spot. The free download can be found here.
