A Site Dedicated To Stopping Bad Software? - Novel Approach Worth A Look

Well at first I thought that this was some kind of a gimmick. But StopBadWare.org is for real. The site touts being sponsored by Harvard Law School’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society and Oxford University Internet Institute. And in addition supported by such tech, fiems as Google, Lenovo, and Sun Microsystems. I’m impressed.

So what do they do?

They are basically chasing down reports of what they describe as ‘badware’ as Spyware, malware, and deceptive adware. You know, all of those fun things we are trying to keep off our computers. Plus they investigate sites with excessive pop-up ads that drive us all nuts.

They even have a page on how to rid your computer of ‘badware’ located here. In addition they have a section where you can report ‘badware’ that you suspect has infected your system located here.

If you would like to become a member of the “Neighborhood Watch” campaign aimed at fighting badware, take at look at StopBadWare.org website. I think you we will surprised at the valuable information this site provides.

Don’t understand this word fiems as it applies to this topic. This appears to have something to do with professional poultry incubators?
