E-Mail:

Protect Your Laptop

On Sunday I was at the airport dropping off my daughter and son-in-law who were returning home after visiting us over the weekend. Our home airport offers Free Wi-Fi, so naturally there were people setting up their laptops to retrieve their email and other work-related or school stuff.

I noticed one young person who, while sitting down, slung his pack off, which smacked into a metal support post. He then stopped with a look of horror on his face as he pulled his laptop out of the backpack. He struggled to open the lid of the laptop and, from what I could see, it appeared to have a cracked hinge that was preventing the unit from opening. As he struggled with the unit, it brought to mind how many people carry their laptops in their backpacks that provide little or no protection.

So what can you do to protect a laptop in a backpack, if this is your main mode of transporting the unit?

I took a look on Amazon’s site, which has a large selection of notebook sleeves and other protectors available. So you can slip the protector over your laptop before slipping it into your backpack. It’s worth a look.

I’m sure other companies have similar notebook protector sleeves available.
