Jim Allchin Of Microsoft - Email Comment Out Of Context - Not Buying A Mac

I read several news articles about the Iowa trial against Microsoft, in which a three-year-old email was presented in court. The email was from Jim Allchin to Steve Balmer and Bill Gates, in which Mr. Allchin made the statement that if he wasn’t working for Microsoft, he’d buy a Mac. Interesting. But with all statements, there are always two sides.
Mr. Allchin has provided his side of the story on his Web site in which he states:
This email is nearly 3 years old, and I was being purposefully dramatic in order to drive home a point. The point being that we needed to change and change quickly. We did: We changed dramatically the development process that was being used and we reset the Windows Vista development project in mid-2004, essentially starting over.
So it looks like he wasn’t threatening to buy a Mac; just sounding out his frustration. So calm down, you Mac heads! LOL
Read Allchin’s full statement here. Then decide for yourself.

I’ve read your article with interest and have ‘claimed (sic) down’ very quickly. And now when I want to discipline my daughter I threaten: I’ll get you a PC for Christmas!
