Welcome

Welcome to my first post here. I’ve been an avid fan and reader of Chris’ posts, editorials, and shows ever since he first started out with the Lockergnome back before he even joined TechTV in its heyday.

I consider myself to be a pretty smart guy, and I love technology and computers. While I am very handy (unlike most nerds and geeks) with tools and my hands, I am also very good with computers, software and hardware alike, and enjoy new challenges.

I certainly enjoy helping people and I look forward to helping anyone here with any questions or issues they may have.

Some of you may wonder why I think I’m so good at computers. Well, it’s not really what I think, it’s what everyone else thinks - I have solved some of the most vexing computer problems, problems that not even local repair shops could solve, from over a thousand miles away, using only a phone, instant messaging, and Virtual Private Networking (VPN) (Definition: A virtual private network (VPN) is a private data network that makes use of the public telecommunication infrastructure, maintaining privacy through the use of a tunneling protocol and security procedures. As I was saying, all my friends, acquaintances and business associates always seem to be amazed that I can be 1/2 a world away, and still solve their computer problems and issues.

Anyway, enough chit chat. Stay tuned for some hints, tips, and tricks, esp. with Windows Vista - an operating system which half the world seems to be having problems with, but which I am saddled with at the moment - and actually, it seems to be working quite well for me…
